Yummy fruits include mandarins, apples, oranges, strawberries, melon, grapes, bananas, pears, nectarines, peaches and many more.

There are lots of vegetables that are healthy and delicious to eat, but here are some ones with interesting names (see if you can practise saying them), artichokes, bok choy, chokos, okra, and swedes!

  • It’s important to eat at least 5 servings of fruit and vegetables a day.
  • Fruits and vegetables are jam-packed with vitamins and minerals.
  • For example, oranges, tomatoes and kiwifruit are high in vitamin C, which helps you to feel fine and look good.
  • Another example is orange and green coloured fruit and vegetables which are a great source of vitamin A. Vitamin A is important for eyesight, healthy skin and it also keeps your immune system healthy to prevent sickness.
  • The skin on some fruits and vegetables is a great source of fibre, which helps to keep your digestive system healthy.
  • It’s important to eat a variety of different coloured fruits and vegetables everyday because the different colours help to keep your body healthy in different ways. Try to see how many different coloured fruits and vegetables you can eat in day. There are 5 main colour groups: red foods, purple/blue foods, orange/yellow foods, green foods and brown/white foods.
